The Great Himalaya Trail N1: The Far West Section
The Far West is one of the least explored areas of Nepal. It is bounded to the east by the mighty, turquoise Karnali River that flows from Tibet’s sacred Mount Kailash.
The two maps below show the Lower Great Himalaya Trail connecting from Rara, Jumla and Mugu to Darchula at the Indian border. The Lower GHT route is highlighted in green.

The map is based on data from the National Geographic Information Infrastructure Programme (NGIIP) of Nepal. The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) also provided data. Trekkers and guides have been consulted on current routes.
